Dillan is home!

Ha ha. So, Dillan came home from the Houston, TX mission two days ago. Wednesday was an eventful day. :) I went over to my parents house at noon-ish to go help my Mom with last minute things, and Alexis was there decorating the house, and Dillan's room with posters, sidewalk chalk, toilet paper and balloons. That was a lot of fun! Then at 2, I had to run to the store quickly to grab some cookie dough and ice cream. It was a very quick trip to the store because we had to leave no later than 2:45 to get to the airport in time to see him get off the plane. (We were under the impression his plane came in at 3:50pm) When I got home from the store, I went upstairs to my parents room where my Mom was getting ready to get ready myself. Oh a whim, I asked my Mom what terminal and gate he was arriving at so we could be at the right one. She said "No, not yet" and then proceeded to grab the paper that had the flight info. She looked at it, and then got this panicked look on her face. I asked her why she looked like that, and she said that he came in at 3:10!! Then the chaos started! We both RAN downstairs with my Mom screaming for my Dad to come upstairs because his plane was was going to get there before we were!!! Oh shoot! Braden and Briana weren't even home from school yet. Why? I have no idea. They took forever to get home. So, I run outside and put the balloons in truck, and wait outside for the kids to get home from school. Braden came around the corner first. I waved at him frantically and told him to just jump in the truck. Don't change your clothes, just get in the truck!!! He looked confused. Poor guy. Here he is just getting home from school and his sister is screaming at him. He gets in the truck, and then we are all in the truck frustrating-ly (is that a word?) waiting for Briana. I decided to grab the paper from my Mom to look at it and confirm the time. I looked at it and realized that in fact his flight came in at 3:50!!!!!! THE LENGTH OF THE FLIGHT WAS 3 Hours and 10 minutes! My Mom read the paper wrong. She just saw the 3:10 and panicked. Ha ha. We were (except my Mom) laughing so hard. We went back into the house so that Braden could quickly change his clothes and we could wait for Briana, who STILL wasn't there! She finally drives around the corner, and parks, and spends what felt like an hour just sitting in her car. She openes her door and gets out slowly, and I am telling her that she has 30 seconds to get in a skirt, and she looks at me and says "Calm down, Ashley" and gives me "The look" . What's her problem??? Anyway, we all get in the truck again, and I look back to Braden and Briana, and then proceed to ask. "Where are the balloons??" Blank stares come back at me. They must have flown out in the craziness of the afternoon. So, we laugh about that too, and my Mom is almost crying at this point. Braden and my Dad get some of the balloons from the yard, and put them back in the truck. Maybe Dillan saw the original balloons in the sky as he flew by them?? Well, we got to airport before Dillan, and it was so so fun to see him come down that flight of stairs into Mom's arms. (We told Braden and Briana to let Mom go first, otherwise, they would get trampled. :) ) Good times. :)

Zions

David and I went to Zions National Park last weekend to celebrate end of finals. It was so fun, and the weather (other than the drive down) was awesome. We both got a nice tan/sunburn, and were able to do a lot of hiking, swimming, horseback riding, and watching of Jazz games. It was the best weekend I have had in a while, and it was so fun to spend so much fun time with my busy busy husband. If you like the outdoors, I recommend Zions. It was great!

lunch, sun and Katie

Oh the joys of spring! Today was so beautiful. David has a lot of studying to do because of finals, so Katie and I went to Subway and got lunch (I got my usual) and went to a park in Orem. Behind Wal Mart. Way cool park for those that have never been. There is a pond with ducks, swings, slides, and lots of grass to lay on and get some sun. Which is what we did. I think my skin wasn't sure what was going on, as it hasn't seen the sun in who knows how long. I now have a lovely small "sunburn", and what looks like rash. Hopefully the bumps will go away soon. I am planning on sitting in the sun tomorrow too. Got to make that vitamin D! Hopefully David is having fun with his books and computer. Maybe I should call him.

Created a blog. Finally

It's about time, some would say. We have started a blog! Well, I (Ashley) started it. David is just along for the ride. Hopefully he will post things as well. We will see how it goes. If you have any advice, it would be appriciated. :)
